5-time successful MP ​​Mirza Azam is contesting for the sixth time in the parliamentary elections

In the upcoming eleven parliamentary elections, five times MP MPs of Jamalpur-3 (Melandah-Madarganj) and State Minister for Jute Mirza Azam were elected as the final candidate of Awami League party boat symbol for the sixth time.
On Sunday, 25 November, the party president and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh received the letter of the final nomination signed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from the party office in Dhaka.

State Minister Mirza Azam was elected MP from the seat for the Awami League party boat five times. He was the opposition leader of the 8th Parliament and the Whip of the 9th Parliament of the Jatiya Sangsad. He served as a member of the Standing Committee on Food Ministry in the 5th Parliament, the Committee on Government Promotion in the 7th Parliament and the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Science, Information and Communication Technology and member of the Standing Committee on Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Education in the 9th Parliament. After the 2014 election, on January 12, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, took oath as the state minister of the Bangladesh government. On 13 January of the same year, he took charge of the Ministry of Textile and Jute.

He has been able to bring comprehensive development projects across the district in last five years due to the continuous development of Melandah-Madarganj two upazilas for the last 28 years.
In Jamalpur, Sheikh Hasina Medical College and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa established the Mujib University of Science and Technology, with the establishment of the development project of Taka 40 thousand crore across the district. The work of these projects is in progress.
