In Tangail, three BNP candidates will be in jail in different cases


In the upcoming eleven parliamentary elections, three candidates in the Tangail district, three candidates of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), who are hoping to get the nomination of the BNP, have been convicted and sentenced in several different cases. They are, Advocate Abdus Salam Pintu, Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku They are in prisons in various cases, including disabilities.

BNP senior vice-chairman, former deputy minister and former MP of Tangail-2, Advocate Abdus Salam Pintu, convicted of hanging in a grenade attack case on August 21. He has been in prison for a long time. Hoping for nomination from Pintu Tangail-2 (Bhuapurapura-Gopalpur) seat.

Tangail-7 (Mirzapur) constituency is a former parliament member, child affairs secretary of Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP National Executive Committee and Mirzapur Upazila BNP President Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui is also in jail. On November 6, he was arrested from the National Unity Front's public meeting in Suhrawardy Udyan, Dhaka. He is hoping for the nomination from Tangail-7 (Mirzapur) seat.

On the other hand, Sultan Salahuddin, general secretary of Central Jubo Dal, Abdus Salam Pintu, who was hanged in a grenade attack on August 21, has been in prison for a long time in the Tasu sabotage case. He hopes to get nomination from Tangail-5 (Sadar) and Tangail-2 (Bhuapur-Gopalpur) seats.

Tangail District BNP president Krishibid Shamsul Alam Tofah said, "They have been imprisoned in various cases. These three are heavyweight candidates.

Note that Abdus Salam Pintu was elected a member of the parliament from Tangail-2 constituency on 15 February and in the 2001 Jatiya Sangsad election of 1991 and 1996. In 2001, he became the Deputy Minister of the coalition government. He was arrested in January 2008 on charges of involvement in the August 21 grenade attack case. Since then, he is in jail. The court ordered his execution in the grenade attack case in October this year.
